Engagement shapes

Five Shapes of Collaboration

  1. Positioning sprint

Who it suits: leadership teams facing a repositioning, a new category, or a merger of voices after an acquisition.

How sessions run: two weeks of daily working blocks on the long table — mornings for reading existing material, afternoons for writing and testing sentences aloud. We finish with a position paper and a one-page summary your board can circulate.

What is written down: category frame, audience definition, proof map, and forbidden claims — the sentences you will no longer use because they contradict the position.

How it concludes: a read-through with your leadership team and a handover note for whoever implements the language in market.

  2. Narrative build

Who it suits: founder-led companies whose story lives in the founder's head but not yet in the handbook.

How sessions run: weekly half-day sessions for six weeks. We interview stakeholders, draft chapters, and stress-test the arc against real objections your sales team hears.

What is written down: a narrative document with chapter headings, exemplar paragraphs, and pull-quotes approved for external use.

How it concludes: a recorded read-through and a set of channel-specific excerpts for web, press, and internal comms.

  3. Editorial programme

Who it suits: marketing teams investing in owned content who need a plan rather than a pile of briefs.

How sessions run: a quarterly planning day plus monthly check-ins. We align themes to business moments — product releases, regulatory changes, seasonal peaks — without pretending you can publish daily.

What is written down: a rolling calendar, brief templates, and an approval path so legal and product can comment without rewriting from scratch.

How it concludes: each quarter ends with a retrospective note: what published, what slipped, and what the next quarter should carry forward.

  4. Brand-system documentation project

Who it suits: companies handing brand stewardship to an in-house team or external design partner.

How sessions run: four to eight weeks of documentation sprints — we collect existing assets, reconcile contradictions, and write the master document section by section with your subject-matter experts in the room.

What is written down: the brand-system binder: position, narrative, hierarchy, voice, nomenclature, and implementation notes for design and copy.

How it concludes: a handover workshop walking your team through the document with annotated examples from your live materials.

  5. Standing advisory arrangement

Who it suits: companies that have done the foundational work and need a steady editor-in-residence for launches and crises.

How sessions run: one fixed half-day each month on the long table, plus asynchronous review of drafts submitted between sessions.

What is written down: marked-up drafts, decision logs, and short briefing notes that explain why a line changed — so the next writer understands the precedent.

How it concludes: advisory arrangements renew by mutual written agreement; we prefer explicit terms over open-ended retainers without scope.

Commercial formats — sprint, project, programme, advisory — are named in proposals. We do not publish fee bands on this site; scope and terms are set in writing after a first conversation.
