This page explains how markdriftforge.life uses cookies and browser storage, what each category does, and how you can change your mind. We write plainly because consent only works when people understand the choice.
What cookies and storage we use
We do not use cookies to track you across other websites. We store one preference record so the banner stays dismissed, and optionally allow Google Maps to load on every page.

Categories
Essential. Required to remember that you answered the banner. Always on. Without this, the banner would reappear on every page load.
Functional / embedded content. Controls whether Google Maps iframes load. When off, you see a placeholder with a button to load the map for that session after you allow functional cookies. Our studio address remains visible in text on every page.
Analytics. We do not run third-party analytics on this site. The toggle exists for consistency and future use; leaving it off changes nothing today.
Google Maps on every page
Each content page includes one map iframe showing 231 Joo Chiat Road. Maps are lazy-loaded below the main content. Under "Accept all" or when functional cookies are enabled, maps load normally. Under "Reject all", maps are hidden and replaced by a placeholder until you choose "Load map" or change preferences here.
Google may collect IP addresses, device information and interaction data when the embed loads. We do not receive that data directly. Review Google's privacy policy for detail.
How long choices last
Consent is stored for about six months (180 days). After expiry, the banner may appear again so you can confirm or change preferences. We do not claim permanent consent.
How to change preferences
Use the button below to reopen the consent panel. You may also clear cookies in your browser settings — if you clear everything, the banner will return on your next visit.
Browser controls
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking all cookies may prevent the banner from remembering your choice and may affect map loading. Instructions vary by browser — check your browser's help pages.

Personal data processed through email or phone contact is described in our privacy notice. Site use is also subject to our terms of use.

What we do not do
We do not use cookie data to build advertising profiles. We do not sell consent records. We do not combine server logs with cookie choices to identify individuals beyond what is necessary to operate the site.
Consent JSON format
The preference file stores a small JSON object with fields for essential (always true), functional (maps), analytics (off by default), a version number, and a timestamp in Singapore time when you saved. You can inspect it in browser developer tools under Application → Cookies and Local Storage if you wish to verify what we stored.
Updates to this notice
If we add new categories or third-party embeds, we will update this page and may ask for renewed consent where the law requires it. The last updated date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
Session-only map loading
When you reject functional cookies but press "Load map" on a placeholder, we enable the embed for that browsing session by updating your stored preference to allow functional cookies. The map then loads on other pages until you clear cookies or change preferences here.
No social plugins
This site does not embed social sharing buttons, comment widgets, or video players that set third-party cookies. The only third-party embed is Google Maps, and only when you consent or load it explicitly.
Testing your choices
After saving preferences, reload any page: the banner should remain hidden and maps should reflect your functional choice. Open browser developer tools → Application to inspect sg_studio_consent and cookie_consent_v1 if you wish to verify the stored JSON.
Essential cookies explained
Essential storage is limited to remembering that you answered the banner. It does not track pages read, time on site, or identity across other websites. Without it, the banner would reappear on every visit and maps would default to placeholder mode even if you previously chose to allow them.
Analytics toggle today
We do not load Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar tools on this site. The analytics toggle in the consent panel is present for transparency and future compatibility. Choosing analytics on or off currently changes only the stored preference, not page behaviour.
